poping thru the carb

when the bike is running it makes a popping thru the carb so I took the head off thinking that it was the in take valve but apon inspection the valves are tight any ideas out there what else to check :???:

You machine is running lean. Carb jets aren't right size for your mods if you have any; or there's a hole or tear in your intake boot (carb to engine); or the carb may need to be cleaned.

thanks I will put it the head back on and clean the carb and se if that works

Really check that intake boot too. A crack or pinhole will do that too

I just had a carb boot have a crack and my bike would even start so that's a good place to check. Flex seal works good as a temporary patch or at least its still working on mine

Flexx seal huh? Never thought of that as a quick fix. Good idea
