Any ideas? Timing is correct, and carb just had rebuild. Is it still a carb issue? Whats going one? It just starts popping and backfiring horribly as soon and you touch throttle.

clutch and or parking brake safety switches
unplug them and toss
then where they plugged into the harness under the headlights plug the 2 wires together and you should be golden

there should be 2 black with yellow stripe wires 1 with a male connector and 1 with a female connector under the headlights plug them together

pull the spark plug I bet it's black meaning it's running way too rich that's the only other thing that would cause the issue your having

It seems to be running rich, but why is the question I have stock jets with a k&n filter and dg rcm exhuast if anything it should be lean... Idk.

I just had the same issue with customers quad. No matter what I did to the carb jetting or needle position it was rich. It turned out to be the tube in the carb body that holds the needle jet tube. It`s not a replaceable part if you have access to another carb try it.

those dirty little switches I tell ya lol
good to hear it's running as it should

yep I thought that sounded like the problem! fancy first gens don't have those and if you switch electrical ALWAYS gotta remember those...
