Ok, just for clarity, lash tappets that I'm making reference to are the cute lil jobs with the square head that adjust valve lash against the valve stem. Should the surface that is touching the valve be rounded a bit or flat? I'm not 100% certain what a new one looks like on that surface.

They are rounded so that they move freely across the tip of the valve through the travel of the rocker arm.

I think mine may need a lil touch up. My adjustment spec is tight but yet I have more valvetrain noise than I'd like & I was noticing that their is wear on the top of the valve. Basically I wanna try to get these surfaces prepped so I can be sure that I have correct lash adjustments.
