Yea, that cam will definately tone down some of that low end semi-truck pullin power you have haha.

Damn that is huge, and I thought the Web .430 lift was big... it seems that the powroll may have a longer duration?

Just P.734 and 9.06 Anyway the specs are .430/.430 lift, 287/288 duration at 0.40 and 80° overlap Talk about a muclecar camshaft. My buddy Gene has a 434 SBC in a 80 Malibu with duration numbers like that, he runs 10.20s

When I got to put this motor back together again, I think I'm going to clay the piston and check PVC. The lift dosn't worry me it's the long duration but I think it'll be alright.

Christ I wonder if it is web that makes that cam... Pam said that the big one is done at Web and the other to Mid-range and torque cam are done at Megacycle. I know that Web does scribe numbers into there cams like date and grind #. I also know that the torque grind for sure is a Web cam from Powroll and the Mid-cam is the Megacycle version. At least spec wise... So I don't know!
You best be holding on to something when that cam kicks in there dude... I will rip the handle bars right off the stem.

The way I did it was install the head and torque it... Then put a dial indicator on the valve retainer. Pushed the valve down and then checking distance that way as the cam is pushing the valve on overlap. But it's what ever suits you fanzy.
I think you'll be just fine but for sure check it... You'll be the only one out there with a longer stroke 466cc FST stroker Powroll stroker cam engine... There's going to be a huge difference in power. I bet you'd dyno 50 hp.

With my .430 cam its a nice power... its not exactly what i was looking for but its a big increase in the 3/4 throttle range. I was looking for more top end and got a little more midrange. But it pulls like a frieght train in all areas of the rpm range. Any level of speed you can bet its going to pull just as hard on the bottom as on top.

Same here ds. Not to go off topic but ds what gearing/tire size are you running with your 430.cam? Right now I'm all stock with tire size and gearing with the 430, when I get my 20in tires I think I'm gona get maybe 15/40 gearing.

Ehh i change it up.. i ran 22's for a while with a 14 front.

Now im running a much lighter set of 20's with the same 14 but it needs changed to a 15. It runs good like it is and i have no problems however i feel that a 15 would allow me to use more of my power, now its kinda like stock gearing haha.

well really a 14T with 20" tires is stock gearing.
Not nessasarily, a 14T front and a 39 tooth rear gets you almost perfect. Stock 13/40 gearing is a 3.17 ratio with 22s, 14/39 is 3.19 with 20s, 14/40 is 7.01 with 20s, the lower the number the higher your revs are and the more torque multiplication you make.
