I just recently got my hands on a 1989 Warrior 350, It starts and idles fine. After getting up to 3rd gear and giving it a decent amount of gas the engine just stops accelerating and cuts out until I let go of the throttle. This happens mostly in 3rd and 4th, but also happens in 1st and second. I'm not really sure where to start, I'm going to be cleaning the oil filter and replacing the spark plug..

Any ideas on what could be happening?

be sure to clean your airfilter well... while the warrior doesnt seem to care a lot how dirty the filter gets I recently had this issue on another quad and it was due to a dirty filter not letting enough air through at higher throttle positions and would bog out

Do the simle things first. Clean air filter, inspect and replace spark plug if necessary (might as well replace it since you prob don't know when It was changed last), inspect all the intake boots(espcially the one that bolts to the head). Did it sit at all before you got it?

after all that if it still cuts out take the carb off and clean it and make sure its jetted correctly for whatever mods may be done to it
