Going to be a simple overhaul. .020 overbore stock replacement piston, new stock valve springs and timing chain. Just a reliable old work machine.

Looks really clean, my wife and I have one for her. That thing will go thru anything. Has some get up and go for a 4x4 too.

He took it to the dunes last spring and it got around great. Started smoking worse recently so he decided to overhaul it. The rings are shot and the chamber is pretty carboned up. Tried to talk him into a Wiseco piston, but no go. Just doing a stock compression Pro-X.

Ours smokes a tad on start ups some times ( valve seals). That wiesco woulda gave it a good feel in the pants along with a .390 cam.

Made some progress and parts showed up today:

No major porting, just cleaned up the sharp edges and blended everything:

He uses it for a work ATV so opted for a Pro-X stock replacement cast piston:

I actually got the cylinder and head back on the machine tonight, but didn't get any pics. I have to clean up the head bolts and remaining parts and will button it up tomorrow evening.

i love wolverines. if i buy another running quad it'd probably be a wolverine. get me a 366, a cam and a warn 424 selector and call it good. i'd enjoy it just as much as anything else.

I'd love to have one, but man I sure would hate to have to do anything bottom end related. That 4WD case setup looks complicated!!

Project Wolverine done!! Got so fired up to get it done, didn't even grab the camera to take pics as it went back together. All went well except took it for a test ride before bolting things back down, and lost a fender bolt. If that is all that goes wrong, then I can live with it.

Final build consisted of bore and hone using a Pro-X .50mm piston and rings, new timing chain, new stock valve springs, port and polish, and new carb boot. Now on to the next project!! Grind a couple small block Chevy cranks for some more mad money!!
