Sorry guys Ive been so busy with stuff, for lack of a better way to put it I forgot about QOTM/POTM til I saw this today. And I think you all deserve a full explanation of where Ive been. Most of this started after classes got out for the summer at school.
The buddy of mine that owns his own shop, that Ive told a few of you that Ive been working for off and on for a while now when he needed help. Well he didnt tell me for the last about 6 months hes been dealing with back pain. Right after classes got out he siad something right after I started for his landlord(he leases the shop space but owns everything else there). Well about a week in he started having severe pain after seeing a chiropractor. Well he had to take some time off here and there, so Id work for both of them splitting the time as much as I could so things were getting done. 2 weeks in no one heres from him from tuesday night til thursday morning. Come to find out he woke up Wednesday, went to put his feet on the floor and had a pain so bad he literally jumped to the other side of his bed on the floor. I dont know if any of you have experienced this but he was literally blinded by pain and couldnt walk(explanation will come later for this). Crawled to his kitchen(good thing he knows his house well) and dialed 911 and passed out til right before they got there.
Once at the ER and lots of pain meds later they bumped people out of line that werent urgent to get him into the MRI asap. Well they are trying to get him tranfered to the UW Hospital in Madison that day. End of the day insurance turned it down and they had to send him home with drugs while they waited for Madison to get everything setup. Well 2 weeks and a whole lot of phone calls later he finally got in for surgery. Well it turned out it was worse than even the MRI showed, the chiropractor broke a herniated disc because he didnt follow certian procedures like atleast an xray and other stuff. Siad his hip was out of place and was trying to put it in and literally jumped on his leg, twisting him just right and actually fracturing the disc. Well the doctors did the surgery and ended up finding bone and other things imbedded in his spinal cord and surrounding nerves. Hence the temporary blindness and not being able to walk.
Now I didnt explain all this for pitty or simpathy for him or me. I did so you guys knew the reasoning behind what Im gonna say next. So I was pretty much running his shop, trying to keep his customers happy and still working for his landlord. So my free time has been very minimal for the last like month or so. So please bear with me and understand if you PM me it may take me a bit to get back to you. This in one of the first days in a while Ive actually had enough free time to even think about hopping on here. Hopefully things are starting to calm down a bit so me free time goes up a bit.
Unfortunatley though the money Im making has had to go to get bills taken care of, so Im no closer to getting my gaskets and timing chain to do my 366 than I was about a month ago...
