Question

I just put on my HMF exhaust on this weekend and I already had the K&n intake. I installed it with the air box still on and had no problems. I thought I would have to jet it with both of those installed. I live pretty much right on the water in Florida I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I plan on drilling holes in the lid and know do you think I will have to jet it after I do that. Is it normal for it to run normal without it being jetted? Also were is a good place to buy a silencer for it? It's loud and I probably pissed a few people off. Oh well! Thanks ahead of time!

You're probably still running lean with those mods, with my hmf and everything else stock I was running lean. Not so bad that it ran awful, but there are other signs like a glowing red header, excessive engine heat, and exhaust popping on deceleration. Check the color of the ceramic insulator on the tip of your spark plug. If it's white or has a white spot on it, you're running lean, and should get it rejetted before you ride it too much because it can cause damage over time.

I think you can buy silencers on ebay, I know at the time I bought mine on ebay from Leesons Motors they also had a seperate listing just for the quiet core, $20 + 5 shipping or something like that.

What are you searching for? I just typed " HMF QUIET CORE " in the ebay search and it returned 4 results. One of them is only $19 with free shipping.

Take the airbox lid off and rejet. The outerwear on the aftermarket filter is designed to take some hits from water. If you don't have a clamp on style filter setup than definately get one.

I do have the pro design clamp on with the K&N. I had the outerwears but I think the wife threw it away. I ride around my house. I live near pensacola Florida. I bought a new house about a year ago and it's not all developed around my house. I can get to an old track from my house in 5 minutes or so they closed it down about two years ago becasue a kid broke his neck and died out there. The cops can give you a ticket out there but it would be so hard to get a car back there if they caught me I would have no problem paying a ticket.
