hey everyone im looking to find out if I get a hmf slip on, filter, jet kit, and a 15 tooth front sprocket if I'll be able to out run a 400ex with a filter and jet kit? I can out handle my friend on my 350 and him on his 400 and he has better rear tires. im looking for some ways to out run him. im planin on getting some rear tires after all these parts.

It'll take some good riding skill and mostly everything you mentioned will help you beat a stocker easilly. A 15 tooth counter sprocket might ruduce your torque a little too much that it'll be a little sluggish down low, I would go with the 14 instead.

Having had both machines I can tell you from experience how they compare. A Rappy 350 with a good pipe, filter, and correctly jetted can run a stock 400ex. If you're not a good rider you will still loose to the better rider on the 400, but the bike is capable. If the 400 has some work done to it, forget about it. My 400 has what I'd consider a fairly mild build and will outrun stock 450s no problem, so you're not touching a worked 400 with the Rappy unless you have a stroker in it. The good news is that if you trail ride you can still leave him in the dust in stock form if you're a good rider. It all comes down to rider skill and where you're riding for the most part, because very few people are capable of pushing their bikes to the limits, even a 350.

I think im a pretty good rider. My friend on the other hand isnt so good. yakuza what would you consider a good pipe, filter, and jets? thanks for the info on the 14 tooth front dave I'll thake that into consideration. Right now we ride in the open feilds by my house and we like to jump. I think my 350 out handels his bike but it might be im not used to how hondas are set up they feel really skinny between your legs. My raptor pulls faster out of the corners then his and I just wanna run next to if not run a little faster then him. thanks for both of your replies.

There are plenty of good pipes, I personally ran a GYT-R. Search the threads on here and you'll find plenty of info on that. In stock form the 400 will handle better, you're just used to yours so when you get on it it feels odd. I can tell you though that with an axle/arms/and shocks your Rappy will handle really well. They're an excellent bike that's really underestimated.
