Im looking to get a nice set of handle bars, silver in color, but don't want to spend soo much.

Im looking to do exactly what this guy did, but they don't have to be taper handle bars, I am going to remove that plastic piece, and put the lights somewhere on the plastic, and I want a good set of handle bars, to slap on there, but what bend do i get to have the closet to stock?

Thanks for the help!

Also, Im looking to get a set of tires for my raptor 350, the only mods, done are an hmf slip on, soon to be a air filter.

I was just gonna go with a set of 4 maxxis tires 6ply version, are these good? I wanted to keep it under 250$ for the 4 tires, also I do a lot of trail riding, so i need good traction.

THANKS thumbsup

What I want to do..

well, for the bars, in the pic you put a link for it looks like he has an extended steering stem and a set of pro taper oversize bars. my guess it that they are the atv high or raptor bend. i have a set of the pro taper bars (atv high) on my warrior with the blue pad just like that and they are nice. in order to do that you will have to get the bars and a mounting kit. your stock steering stem accepts 7/8" bars. oversize bars are 1 1/8". the mounting kit attaches to your stock steering stem and is basically a new mount for them that accepts the oversize bars. it also raises the bars just a little bit. the bars will run you (in my guess) about $60-70 (depending on the brand that you get) and the mounting kit will be somewhere between $30-40. heres a pic of what my setup looks like.

you can see my lights mounted in the hood plastic on either side. not hard to do, just need a power drill and drill bit thats about the same size as the rubber grommet/gasket things. the bars and mounts are really easy to put on, so if you decide to do it and need some help just let me know and i can walk you through it. just remember to use locktite on the mounting bolts to make sure they stay put. if you want to do an extended steering stem, you are going to be paying quite a bit more. with an extended steering stem you may have to get extended control cables, like clutch and throttle, and brake lines. you may not have to, but i guess it would depend on how much farther it is extended. not exactly sure because i have a stock stem. as for tires, i have a full set of BKT XDrive tires on my warrior and i like them. they are 6 ply and were not too expensive. i think i paid about $240-250 for my full set. i ride trails and have never had a problem with these with punctures and they get good traction. just make sure to put tire slime in your tires when they are mounted and before you air them up. this will give you a little more security with small punctures.

hope this helps you out. let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

oh, i almost forgot. all your controlls (throttle, clutch lever, switches, atv grips, etc.) will fit on these bars with no problems. they taper down toward the ends so the control mounting areas are 7/8" (or stock) size. again, i hope this helps and dont hesitate to ask more questions. im more than happy to help.

I personally dont like using tire slime on atvs. I can cause the wheel to become off balance and it may leak out and spray everywhere when ur riding. and it makes a mess when you decide to change tires. But thats just my experience with that stuff.

hmmm. well i havent had any problems with the wheel being off balance with them. i dont really think you can balance atv wheels/tires like you do a car, but i could be wrong. havent seen or heard of it ever leaking or spraying out while riding either. not saying it couldnt happen though. i agree with the whole being a mess when changing tires, but thats why you either clean it off (hose or wiping it up) or just have a shop put your tires on and have them deal with it. good points though, but i would rather have the extra "insurance" even though it wont fix all punctures (larger ones).

THANKS for the help!

I saw that the steering stem looked a bit higher. What I meant when I said I wanted to do what he did, I was talking about taking that plastic piece off and putting the "N" and "R" light somewhere on the plastic. Like I am not looking for a set of fancy bars or anything just a set of bars that will work with what I want to do, and except everything on the mounting area. I was also looking at these > http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDetail.do;jsessionid=CACEFD2C9119596E634E8E0908D7C5E4.westring2?navType=type&navTitle=Control&webTypeId=70&webCatId=12&stockId=103008&prodFamilyId=12330
there 30$ and I can get them in the Raptor bend, would this be worth the money?[/b]

well, i have heard that tusk products are not the best out there, at least thats what i have heard about their brakes. i have a set of their nerfs on my warrior and i like them and they were a decent price. i dont know how their bars would be though. doesnt look like a bad deal though, but the pro tapers are probably stronger. they only thing you have to worry about then is that they cost a little more and they will most likely bend before they will break and that could cause you to bend your steering stem, but thats not always the case. some people like to get cheaper bars because they are cheaper to replace if they bend or break, but i personally like to spend a little more to have a good set of bars. you can get the pro taper bars in the 7/8" size. they are the SE (or seven-eights) model and they will fit on to your stock stem without a mounting kit. they are also cheaper than the oversize bars. as for moving your neutral and reverse lights, its really easy to do. just make sure to not get the bulbs mixed up, but if you do you can just switch the lenses. like i said before, just pick a spot where you can see them well and where the wires will reach, then use a cordless drill and a drill bit that is about the size of the rubber grommet to make your holes. make sure you take the plastic that you are mounting them in off of the quad first, or else you may end up messing up some wiring. i guess that would go without saying, but im sure someone would try it. anyway, hope that helps a little. later
