Raptor 350 shift drum

I`ve taken a lot of Warrior motors apart and the shift drum has a screw on the shift star on the end. Yesterday I bought a few 350 motors and one is a Raptor motor and the shift star is welded to the shift drum. Does anyone know if they started welding them or did someone rig this.

well i just did a little looking around on ebay and bikebandit and it looks to me like someone rigged it
