I have a swingarm and axle from a parts bike that I intend to install (swingarm) on my 96 warrior. I have everything off of the swingarm (ale nuts, sprocket, caliper, and hubs) and I cannot get the axle out. Do I need to remove the sprocket carrier off of the axle to remove it? Is it threaded on? Is there anything else I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the sprocket carrier has splines but should come off if you lightly tap it away from the main bearing carrier. then the axle should slid out on the brake side of the main bearing carrier.

while your that deep into the axle are you going to change the axle bearings?

Yes I am changing the bearings. I cannot get that sprocket carrier to come off. I am letting it soak with wd-40 for a while and hopefully I can get it off. it is full of rust.

I like PB blaster. it works very good a breaking stuff loose, they sell it a autozone.

soak everything in pb, take the brake caliper off, take the axle nuts off then your sprocket hub, then slide the whole assembly out to the right, the carrier has 2 bolts running horizontal, take them out and the whole carrier should fall out......then take the pivot bolt for the swing arm and losten it (dont take nut off) then hit it on the left side to break it loose ( dont take the nut off to protect the threads) i had to cut mine and buy a new one then just re assemble, it would be smart to put in a grease fitting while you have the carrier apart and replace the bearings

mine did not come out, i tried an assortment of rubber mallets, sledges and all it did was bend the sprocket hub, so i ended up giving it to the town and having them cut it down the middle (for the rotor) so i ended up having to buy a new axle carrier rotor swingarm and sprocket hub, and then i put it together with anti sieze and loc-tite on everything
