Rear brakes help!

So, I bought a rear caliper rebuild kit and a set of rear pads off ebay. When I shook the pads out of the package I could see they were different than the original ones. The metal liner for the inside pad wouldn't fit but the pads went on without the liner clip, then I saw the manual called for DOT 4 which I've never used on anything before and don't have. I got on ebay and told the brake pad seller he sent me front pads instead of rear pads and was told the new type pads fit front and rear calipers. Is this ******** and who uses DOT 4?

The front and rear pads are the same, the clip isn't a single thing of importance. And I only use dot4.

Well hell. I got all worked up for nothing? I ordered another pair of rear pads on ebay that looked like the originals with the ears.
