rear tire change

I have read the post about sprocket changes and I am curious what would be the benefits of replacing my stock rear 22x10-9 with something smaller without changing sprockets? I have one particular mx track I ride as well as some small time trail riding.

Smaller tires will alow you to jump, cornor, power slide better. You will gain quite abit of tourqe. but with that you will lose topend.
