I really need some help on this. I have an 87 warrior. I bought it in like new/showroom condition. Runs great, perfect compression etc... I added a k + n and pro circuit exhaust. But I get killed by newer warriors, 300 ex's, even mojave's. When I get to the top of each gear (which comes way to soon, yes stock sprocket) the engine seems to be rev limiting. I am only getting about 50 mph out of it before the limiter. What can I do? Can I get a rev box that will work with the 87 ignition? Can I just get rid of the limiter? PLEASE PLEASE help!!!!!!

I think you're looking at a valve problem or a jetting problem. Warriors don't have rev limiters

or rich if it were lean it would prolly be poppin and runnin funny... when its rich it really robs u of performance

Lean can cause i big perf. loss too. I could never get mine jetted right untill the edelbrock, and then the topend was insane after i got it in. But deffitnly not a rev limiter.

So then there is no need to buy a "rev box" if there is no limiter to begin with.....???? After adding the air filter and exhaust would that cause it to lean out? And again thanks to everyone for the info!!!!!!!!!!!!

Correct and Yes- Don't waste money on the rev box and you will be lean with aftermarket air filter and exhaust.

Well a rev box does more then increase your RPMs... If you get a rev box that increases your spark (the Dyna increases it by 800%), response, usable power its still worth it.

DONT BUY IT!!! You can use z400 riders for evidence, procom boxes are crap!!! They will take a big **** on you within a year or two, and you can tell when your quad has trouble starting for no apparent reason. The box on there is made by procom, which is mentioned at the bottom of the paragraph. My buddy had a procom on his z and it went to **** on him less than a year later. He also mentioned how much better the yoshi box was compared to the procom, which is also in the same league as the dyna.

But my god, it's damn near the same price as an Edelbrock!!

Is it worth the cost for those of us not going balls-to-the-wall with our mods?

Prolly not for your average trail rider, but then again the edelbrock really isnt either. I would do other motor mods or have plans for other ones before doing this. But you could and you would see gains from them. But motor mods will come together quite nicely with the edelbrock and the dyna.

Has anyone had any experience with the 100.00 rev boxes as opposed to the Dyna's?

I wasn't referring to the Procom box specifically, but any of the 100.00 jobies. Are they all crap? I would imagine, huh?

I amstarting to get very very frustrated! I have jetted the carb, fixed the accelerator pump, tuned the mixture, etc. etc......still feels like a rev limiter at the top of every gear (should rev way more) and bogs so bad it will stall if I just nail the throttle from a start. HELP!!!!!!
