Reverse problems with my 98 warrior

I put my warrior in reverse the motor shuts off like I hit the kill switch I am new to this atv stuff any help would be great thanks

Check the ground on the lever.

yep^^^ make sure the green ground wire is grounded good on the lever

check the adjustment, out of spec will shut the motor off (without the clutch lever pulled).
easy adjust, in the service manual

That is your ground wire to the reverse shifter.
I had the same problem; as soon as you moved the shifter out of forward it would kill the motor.
