How much of a difference does the direct shifter actually make? I just cant see it making that much of a difference in the shifting.

Once you go direct..you'll never want to go back..so much smoother..and you dont have to worry about breaking your linkage, wich isnt that hard!!..hehehe

The direct shifter makes the shifting feel much more firm, not sloppy and notchy like it is with the stock one. You can buy direct shifters on ebay for the warrior, they just won't work if you have a big bear oil cooler setup

They work so much better, and if you set it up right, its easier to shift with boots. Here is the one that I have:

If you have to go around the big bear cooler you have to set it up in 'reverse' in a way. You'll need access to a tig welder to make it however.

A 400ex shifter will definitely work, you just have to bend them a little to get them to fit perfectly.

There's a few guys over on bluetraxx that have them, I don't think they'd be telling everybody they work if they didn't. I've heard that they work several different places, and never heard anyone say that they don't work, other than they are too long without bending them a little.
