I was taking a look at my stock skid today (the one under the engine), And it must have take one hell of a shot because it was bent up touching the engine, at first i was pissed because i thought it was up in the case, but the case is fine.
When the skid bent it bent the tabs on the frame up, and i was wondering if i would be able to put on aftermarket skids with those being bent up?

i have the same problem man, idk what i'ma do, prolly gonna try to bend the tabs back down dunno how tho

Aftermarket skids will use different mounting hardware, at least my GYTR does.

all the skids I ever saw used the mounting tabs for the stock skid. You'll have to bend them down to get it to fit right. I can't remember exactly what the mounting tabs are like, but I think you should be able to bend them back with an adjustable wrench or something like that.

Then maybe I should invest in a new skid plate...lol. The little brackets they use on the GYTR tend to get bent up and work their way loose after a few good hits. Once they're bent, it'll never tighten all the way and rattle nonstop ::)

i just put a gytr skid on my warrior
it only used the 2 rear factory mounts back by the swingarm/shock end of frame
rest of hardware came with it to mount to frame rails.
make sure you use red loctite when you install it.
you should be able to grab the tabs with a pair of waterpump pliers or adjusty wrench to bend them back if you need to.

ok thanks guys. Im not sure why i couldnt think of using freakin wrench, but i guess thats what this forums for, lol thanks again
