ok well i changed the oil today and washed the filter, well i put new oil in and turned it on about 2hrs later, and there is smoke coming out the exhaust, white maybe a tint of blue, so i think i put too much oil in but not sure... what does this mean???

too much oil could cause it to blow past your rings, or ur rings could be shot, or your valve seals could be shot.

Well if it didnt smoke prior to changing the oil then it should be that you just put too much oil in. It could also mean that you rings are shot like stated above. Check with the dipstick and see if there is too much oil, if not its most likely seals.

There's a simple way to check if you put too much oil in. Check the dipstick.

If you didn't put too much in, what kind of oil did you use? Possibly something lighter than normal, that is slipping past the seals?

well oil is clear so its kinda hard to see on the dipstick, and i used the same kind of oil i have been using

your oil is clear??... just let it run for a few minutes turn it off let it sit for a few more and give it a check.... use a paper towel to check where the level is at on the dipstick, the oil should get a little darker after u run ure quad a few times

It's not hard to tell the difference where their is oil and where there isn't oil on a dipstick even if it's completely clear. New oil is thick and is clearly visible on a dipstick.

well today it smoked a little bit, and like i put my hand behind the muffler and my hand got wet, i think thats because its soo damn cold out tho (15-20 degree) i didn't ride it, just turned it on and did have the choke on cuz thats the only way it would keep going for the little bit i had it on, so i think its fine now.. thnx guys
