These are my pups. The dame is registered Mtn Cur (squirrel dog) and the sire is a bulldog (hog dog). I haven't seen him but usually around here, hog dogs are pit bulls or bull mastiffs. I'm going to try to make squirrel dogs out of em.

wow, those pups are awesome lookin. My friend has a mastif (dunno what kind) but its like a horse, when it stands up, its like 6ft tall.

so which is which and what are you planning to do with them

(make a mixed breed to have squirrle dogs?)

They're already mixed. The guy had $1500 in his Mtn Cur and his neighbors hog dog went over a 7' fence to get to her when she was in heat...lol. Both of my pups are males. The brindle is kinda timid whereas the brown one is a little hell-yun!

First time I can shoot a squirrel out on em, I'll try to get a video. If any of ya'll don't hunt, the best way to train a treeing dog is to let it meet up with the game early. They will get their butts whipped but it will make em or break em. With the attitude these two have, I'm sure it'll make em!

Reggie, there are all kinds of mastiffs. It actually comes from "mongrel"...lol St. Bernard's are mastiffs. Thems some bigguns! Bull mastiffs are usually around 2' high at the back and 130 lbs or so. I think the sire of these was actually a pit bull judging by the brindle's head. They don't really resemble a bull mastiff at all to me. Mtn Curs are fearless. The book "old yeller" was actually about a mtn cur rather than a lab.

Thanks ya'll. Wheres Corko? He likes dogs don't he? WHERE YA AT DUDE!

my step dad has squirrel dogs they are called (fiest) not sure of spelling but they are a cross of a mtn curr and a jack russle he got them in michigan somewhere one is a grand champion never been beat coon dog ... yes he uses his squirrel dog for coon hunting ..they are alot faster than the hounds they kind of look like a long legged beagle... cool dogs good luck hunting

Feists have a great reputation for hunting, though a lot of people think it is strange. I grew up coon hunting and most of our dogs would always tree both. The guy I got the pups from has a feist as well. I've seen grand champion dogs around here but I never got into the organized hunts. We would just hunt for fun. If my Grandpa had a registered dog, he'd lose the papers everytime. They just didn't mean anything to him...lol

1blurappy23, he had some more pups if you want me to I can find out if he still does.

Yea, this one is HUGE, and it weighs around 180lbs... Or somethin around that. But it isnt fat, just huge, lol. I want one! I think it is a bull mastiff, but i know he is a lot bigger than 130lbs. I think the dog is on roids or somethin, lol.

reminds me of "where the red fearn grows" lmao

awesome pups man.

I'm readin that book now for the 20th time. This post makes me kinda sad. I had a purebreed blood hound, Hank, i was going to teach him to hunt coons (not the kind ur thinkin of death) but i didnt have any idea how to do it. And he ran away. :'(

I only read that book once, in school. But it's one of the few books I remember from my childhood!

Daddy can I have one!!!!

Don't spend too much money adding mods to the dogs now. Remember you got a raptor you got to jump back on in a month or so..

I can't wait! Gonna get me a hmf and pro flow clamp-on before then too! Next time it'll flip even faster! lol

Thats what I'm planning on anyway. With two small kids stuff can change quickly. Plus my wife is having surgery Tuesday, so we'll see. But as of now I'm planning on a couple of upgrades.
