I have a 98 warrior and when I go to start it the it just spins but it doesnt turn over and its it makes a loud noise. It ticks every few seconds back by the solenoid and theres 2 plugs with wires behind the solenoid and the 2nd one you can see it spark every time it makes the clicking noise. The spiking noise is down by the starter and left engine cover. Anyone know?

Is the starter spinning but not the motor? Spinning slow? Check all connections are tight and make sure battery is fully charged. Or one way bearing is bad.

Just took the side cover off and its not turning over. Every one in a while it'll catch and turn a little bit. Is that the starter clutch or?

That is the starter one-way bearing that mounts to the back of the flywheel. You need a new bearing, a GOOD quality allen socket, and you need to buy a flywheel puller. And, no, you cannot make one work.

but did you ever find out why it was making a ticking noise at the solenoid? Mines doing the same thing too but its turning over fine

my solenoid made that noise when my battery terminal broke off. when i reconnected it the noise stopped. dont know why it does that but im guessing a bad connection somewhere?
