I've got a 1990 Warrior that I'm going though and it has tweaked steering stem. I picked up a straight one off of ebay but it didn't specify the year it came off of. I thought they were the same 87-04 or whatever. Are the steering stems off of the 87-88's different like the control arms as well?

The reason I ask is because of the bearing area on the two are totally different. The 90 is a stepped design, and the other one is a single diamater... narrower than both diamaters on the 90.

Is there a solution other than buying another stem? I'm wondering if buying the correct bearing kit would resolve this.

I could find a way to sleeve the narrow one to match the original would work. That might be more money than it's worth.

I would think that the stem you got is from an 87. They had a brass bushing instead of the bearing that 88-04 had.

Hmm, if I get the 87 style brass bushing would it fit the 90 frame? This is just too nice of stem not to use lol.
