Swapping needle jet question

Can I swap needle jets from my 87 carb to the 99 carb? The needle jet for the 99 doesnt have any other spots for the clip and the 87 does. Its running a bit lean and I want to drop the clip to raise the needle. Ive put them side by side and the appear to be the same length and diameter. Anyone know about doing this?

yes you can swap them they are the same exact thing

Thanx, I already put the carb together with the older needle jet and lowered the clip. Seems to run better like that
