hmm.. i was too.. makes sense thou..

i use this stuff.. i got it free at a bicycle race i rode in.. its for bicycle chains but when i used it on my atv chain that had been sitting in the garage for 10+ months it only took about 5 minutes to penetrate and work its way throu the entire chain..and it didnt spray off after a good rip up the street.. this stuff is gooood

Good article, Elwood.
I'd also add that I lube my chains after cleaning the bike, and before storage. Give it time to set up overnight; lessens the chance of slinging so much snot...
