Well the raptor is great and i do not regret buying it at all but next year i will be buying something different so it has come down to 2 choices. Also i ride trails mainly and i love the mud/snow and where ppl have never gone before, but i also love that balls to walls feeling ripping down roads and pits.
First choice is the 2006 Yamaha wolverine, i chose this because it still keeps that sporty styling and feeling and its quite nimble from what i have seen in person
pros
-2wd and 4wd on command
-excellent motor lots of power
-lot more comfortable for all day rides
-good machine to blaze new trails and take the "harder" way
cons
-weighs in at 516 plus me 170
-kinda slow top speed of 50mph (with the 23" tall tires)
-wouldn't be as much fun in pits or open roads
now the second choice is the Yamaha Raptor 700, brute power and enough power for anything i would ever need
pros
-unreal power
-fuel injected
-lots of potential
cons
-still only 2wd
-not ideal for mud.snow or water crossings
Basically i just need input on both machines and what you think in general
quoted price was 7900 for the wolverine, 8800 for the raptor
