Ive been reading a lot on here for the last few months. I finally have a question/confirmation type of situation...
Im pretty sure my stator needs replaced from the reading Ive done. The quad ran great then started dying at idle and this little missing problem after it warmed up a little. Changed the spark plug and had the same deal. So I started checking into it and quit riding the quad. It sat for like a week or two and then my horses got out so I took it to look for them. When I got back I forgot to turn the key off in my rush to close the gate.
When I went to start the bike to do some testing the battery was dead. I tried to charge the battery and it shuts the charger off after like 4-5 minutes. 3 month old battery wont charge over 5% and apparently has a short or something cause it shuts the charger off... So I think the stator or something fried the battery? I really ran the hell out of it chasing the horses back to the house. Would that over charge/fry things?
What else should I check? Do you guys think its the stator?
