depends on how much you like maintainance. Heim joints require more maintainance than a regular tie rod end because they don't have any rubber boots to keep dust, dirt, and water from getting in. That's probably why you don't see them more often.
 
Makes sense to me,so I guess they have zerk fittings,I would lube them with everything else?

I never saw a heim end with zerk fittings, you just have to pack some grease around them every once in a while, I don't know of a real good way to lube them.
