Aight guys, I'm tired of dickin around around with bidding & auctions. I'm gonna just go ahead & order my 12:1 366. I've seen the piston kit & the piston kit with gaskets but there doesn't look like there's a kit with gaskets on ebay tonight. I did see some seperate Cometic gasket kits but Idk how to tell if they're for the 85mm bore. Any help?

oem warrior gaskets work from std bore - .080 over so your good just pick your poison gasket wise.

NO that is not true... 85mm bore requires a custom gasket.

12:1 you will have to run race gas... if you are ok with that then go for it!

Get cometic or factory is very good as well.

my gaskets i have on mive the head gasket has about 2-3mm before it gets to the inside of the jug and mine is .040 over why do you need custom?

True that, I had to get one made for the 85mm bore

Get one off ebay ill give you the seller, i just got my 10.5-1 piston from him for 130 shipped. He has the 12-1 piston too because thats what he sent me first

It's really not that expensive to have one made by cometic and they have dealt with warrior engine before so you just tell them what type of gasket you want, what bore size and how thick.

Beastly, that would be awesome, hit me with that. How'd you get it so cheap?

Jason, what gasket thickness did you use? From reading your other thread it sounds like your thickness were pretty dead on.

I ran a .020" base cometic and the thinnest est head gasket cometic offers which is .032"

Every engine is different from what I've found but it will get you close. My piston was .001 down from the top of the cylinder, so just about perfect. I would ask for a .035-.040" thick head gasket if you have 0 deck. That will give you a little more clearance if you are going to run that big .450" cam. You will need it cause the exhaust valve gets really close to the piston at TDC overlap.

That's what concerns me is the p to v clearance. I'd be really happy with a .040 quench on a "0" deck. I wanna keep my timing chain as tight as possible even though I'll be using the Megacycle gear. So what is the thickness of the stock head gasket? If JE uses a deck corrected piston & the base gasket is about .015 compressed & it's within .001-.002 of the deck I'll call it a win with a .040 head gasket. With the 12:1 ranking compression should be pretty good. I'm hoping it'll help keep the bottom end torque in place while the cam wants to rev out on the top.

Don't worry about the timing chain being tight, the tensioner will take up the slack. But if you are doing a rebuild I would recomend a new chain if the tensioner was more then 3/4 out.

Yep that piston will really help the bottom end with that big of a cam.

I believe the stock gasket is .046" but man I'm going off memory here. It's a good gasket though and is muli-layer like the est.

Well, just for an update I got my piston. Nice piece but the circlips weren't with it... I contacted the seller & he rapidly replied. Hopefully he can get them for me or just reimburse me the cost of new ones which is about $8 shipped from Summit Racing.

always something huh? i really like my 12:1, the race gas is a little annoying if you need it on the weekends.
