To bore or not to bore?

I'm going to upgrade my piston to a Wiseco, put in a Web Cams .430 cam and rebuild the top end sometime soon. I'm wondering if it's worth it to bore out the cylinder lightly. (1-2mm) Is the power increase worth the cost and decrease in durability/longevity?

Fact.. anytime you up the compression and rev the engine higher you will put more heat and stress on parts and they will wear quicker. As far as a overbore of 2mm wearing out quicker then say a .5mm that would be not a true statement. How would a 2mm overbore wear out quicker that is what you should ask yourself. Coming from Powroll, Duncan Racing, and FST they all say the same, there is more then enough metal in the sleeve left over, there is nothing to worry about.
I think an over bore of 2mm is worth like 1.5 hp or so. The cost factor and if it's worth it is up to you. The only problem with this is the fact that you have to resleeve it after you bore it if something goes wrong with the rebuild or you sieze the piston in the bore.
 
when i put in my weisco piston and rings +20 over stock i boared it out and with the weisco piston it had to be .002 beyond that to compensate fo expansion of piston and rings the money is worth it to boar it out it cost me 85.00 and that is high most charge 60.00 but you get what you pay for.and if you are going to modify it do it right.take it from me i always end up doing **** not once or twice but three times before saying to myself i should of done it right the first time.
