Transmission trouble?

I am having trouble with my transmission on my 98 warrior when I put it in 1st gear the shifter sticks down I have to pop it up the shifter and linkage is working fine do I have to split the case I never did it before does anyone have an idea what's wrong any help would be great thanks

Will I have to pull cases apart to fix this problem

No pull clutch cover off. If your cover is too tight it will make shifter stick

I had just replaced the clutch in the summer fibers steel and springs soaked the fibers should I take a look at it? I am just a confused about the cover being to tight I will try anything that keeps me from splitting the case apart

Just take cover off and see if the issue goes away

Took the cover off everything look ok put it back together sticking again could the shaft be moving back and forth or should I grind off some of the pin inside the cover

when you removed the cover did it kinda spring apart or did you have to pry it apart? i have heard of a bearing inthere that works its way outward and you have to lock tight it in but causes the bike to shift hard or not shift at all but i dont no what bearing its all i heard..
