Got my 13'' drop down TV today and just got done installing it. The installation went well since I already had a drop down in.

Here are the pics:

I just never did understand everyone's amusement with tvs in cars. This isn't too over the top I guess compared to most others, but it still seems really impractical to me. There's a guy (black guy, who'd have guessed?) in the car club here in york that has a ******* hyundai with 11 ******* tvs and he's still not done. He has 5 times what the car is worth invested just in tv screens and it looks dumb as hell to me because it's totally useless. It seems like a great reason for your car to get stolen or broken into. I just don't get it...

I think we have gone round and round about this before. And I can't argue with the way you feel. But I work at a car stereo shop. I'll just say if I added all my stuff up retail I would have well over 9,xxx. With my discount I have way less then 2,500 dollars invested. For that reason alone its worth it. I am actually far from done. I have a kenwood 8'' monitor Iwill be placing where my rear view mirror was and a backup camera will be viewed on that screen. With a 13'' drop down in the rear even if I had a rear view mirror I wouldn't be able to use it.

As far as being stolen. Plenty of vehicles get stolen for many odd reasons. Hell just because I got rims thats a good enough reason for someone to take it. If someone wants to take the time to take my blazer then have fun. I installed my remote start and alarm and even I can't find some stuff inside my dash. On the other hand if your talking about my stuff in there. Hell they can have that. I'll get back 4x what its worth. All reciepts I have are retail price. And if they want my indash tv they have to take my passenger seat out to take the brain for that TV. Without the brain it won't work..

Anyway I am not done with mine either. Once I have the income to put into my blazer it will consist or air bags, new paint, and a few more screens in it.

Answer this question. What would you rather do when you pulled up behind me or beside me at a stop light? Watch some TV, or listen to my music and sub?

Haha, if I pulled up at a light behind you, would I like to watch tv with no sound for 15 seconds, or would i rather listen to somebody else's music? None of the above, I have my own stereo in my truck for a reason... i want to listen to my own music, not the person beside me or in front of me.

Lol, is that why you invested $2500 in all that stuff, to entertain the person stopped behind you?

Even if it was free i don't think i'd install that stuff in my truck, it's as useless as tits on a bowl. I guess if you're a showoff that's the thing to do haha, but i'd rather turn heads with a suped up car or lifted up truck, as opposed to trying to get attention with a soccer mom suv with lots of lights and sounds, but lacking any off road ability because of the monsterous wheels with rubber band tires. Maybe i'm just too much of a redneck to appreciate the urban lifestyle, but big rims and tvs where tvs don't belong just dont impress me.

You nailed it right on the head. Im a showoff.

I am surrounded by rednecks, and about 1/8 one. So thats not the problem.

And I wasn't trying to impress you. I'm personally not a huge fan of "suped" up cars because rarely can you drive them to thier potential. But I appreciate nearly anything modified with a motor. Even lifted trucks that are built for show that never do what they are built for.

i dont see why they are no use, they have tons of uses, sit in the back and pop in a movie for friends or if your shillin in the back watcha movie i like it i think they are cool, and a great investment, cause if you want to sell it later and they have kids, they will be allover the tv thing, my mom has 2 in her jeep and i tell you what it was a good investment cause they shut up and watch the movie

lmao you would have to be pretty hardcore to do that! but yes i am part redneck myself, i hunt, i fish etc. but never have i wore my hunting clothes to school... oh and as far as the main topic of the tv's it would be great for a long road trip...well if you were'nt the driver but i would rather see suped up cars/trucks than blinged out cars/trucks but hey thats just me. i love the sound of my neighbors "claimed 1400 hp," muddin truck in the morning.
