hopefully someone can help me so i can ride again well my warrior wont build charge in the battery if u jump it itll run all day but if u shut it off u have nothing at all the lights wont even turn on it has a fairly new (less than 6 mnts) ricky stator stator in it battery bout same time just one day the push button stoped workin to start it so i parked it and now this ive been told it may be the voltage regulator cus the stator test fine on ohms but i lost my manuel and dnt have have to test the regulator can someone help or know what the problem is PLEASE LOL

You need to measure the charging voltage on the battery (the voltage when the engine is running). I assume you have a meter, if you checked the resistance on the coil.

Target voltage should be around 14 volts. If it's showing considerably less (12.5 or less maybe) you definitely have a charging issue. We can continue troubleshooting after you check the charging voltage.

It sounds like you have the right idea about what the problem is, it's somewhere within the stator, regulator, battery, or wiring. Load testing the battery wouldn't be a bad idea. Just because the battery is fairly new doesn't mean it's good. I test lead-acid batteries similar to these at work, (backup power for fire alarm systems, but same basic thing) and it's surpising how often a battery can be bad right out of the box or within the first few months.

ok thanks i tested the battery with the engine running and it was very low like between 2 and 4.5 volts so i know theres a big problem now do u know how to test the regulator what it should ohm at cus if u go from one wire to the other through all 3 the range from .7 to .85 ohms and also when the bikes runnin the regulator and wires is kinda warm almost hot im almost positive the stators good cus ricky stators website has a testing procedure on it and gives the ohms it should be and mine is within tolerance

Well, i don't think it's actually the regulator, i think it's the rectifier. That's the component that's responsible for converting the ac voltage from the stator to the dc charging/operating current.

When the motor is running do the lights work at all? Very dim?

I've never actually had to test or replace a rectifier, it's normally a pretty reliable part of the electrical system. I don't know if the service manual has the specs for testing it. If it doesn't you might as well just get a cheap one off ebay and try it. Without having a schematic of it, there's no way to know what the expected measurements on the rectifier are.

I'd also still check that the battery is good, like i said a new battery doesn't necessarily mean a good battery.

Yea the lights work and the more throttle u give it the more they dim so thats y i was hopen someone had a manual that had the way to test the rectifier cus mine has gone missing so guess i need 2 atleast buy a new regulator i guess
