as some of you know from my last post (i think i just blew up my motor) i was haveing problemd with it turned out to be the cma sproket bolt came out so i fixed that the today i went riding and was riding for about an hour or so nothing to hard i had my girlfriend on the back but i went to my neighbors then came home and i pulled down into my yard and it just shut off so i tried to start it and it sounds like it has no compression so i checked the cam bolt and it was tight and the valves move so now what could it be i plan on takeing the top end off tomorrow to try to find my problem but i need some help on what to look for and what mabey causeing this to keep happening thanx in advanced

Get a compression tester to rule that out completely before ripping it appart. Also make sure the valves aren't too tight otherwize they'll stay open, and it get's worse when the motor heats up. Thats why you adjust the valves with the motor hot. See if theres any play in the rocker arms when it's off the cam, if not back off the adjustment till the valve closes then reset. If still not the problem then you might have a ring issue.

well the thing is it was fine and then it just quit and i havent done anything with the valves why would it just start doing it and i cant find a compression tester to fit my quad no one sells them

A compression tester really isn't made to fit any thing specific, they screw into your spark plug hole and when you crank the engine it shows how much pressure your cylinder is making. Really you can put your finger over the hole and find out if your getting decent pressure or not and this test is either a hit or miss and obvious if your getting pressure, making the test almost worthless for diagnosis. Really you should purchase a cylinder leakage tester, which are more effective, but help you pinpoint where your leak would be such as valves (intake and exhaust) or rings, by putting compressed air into the cylinder when your engine is at TDC on compression stroke (which is tricky the first few times you do it) so you can listen for the rush of air where your problem would be (exhaust pipe, air filter, or crankcase breather/oil inlet if its blowing past the rings). The only things that a copmression test would help is in gauging how much pressure your cylinder is making .

Something like this would be more worthewhile to buy however, i would not purchase snapon unless you have a source that you can get a discount through. http://buy1.snapon.com/products/diagnostics/eepv309a.asp?partno=eepv309a&dir=catalog

i tore into it and the exhaust valve is stuck open so i have to replace that and have that machined and i knowticed that there are some marks in the jug so im boring it all out and putting in a bigger piston and everything but i dont have the money so it will be sitting a lil while. but my neighbor has a yz 85 that i can ride and have some fun better than nothing
