hey guys i found an old warrior that im thinking about buying to fix up. its a 96 and it runs really good and its only 600 bucks. the plastic is really faded and the rest of it is in not so good shape. if i do buy it i will have around 1000 dollar budget. do you guys think i should get it or not? if i do get it give me some ideas on what to do to it.

I dont know.... 1000 bucks can go pretty far on ebay. If its mechanocally solid I would go for it.

as long as you are doing all the work yourself a grand will go a long way.

yeah i plan on doing all the work myself. its mechanically sound but its in pretty bad shape. the frame needs PC'd pretty bad because its got a lot of surface rust on the swingarm and the back of the frame from where the battery leaked out acid onto it. it also needs a starter clutch. how much can i get one of those for? are they easy to put in? it probably needs new plastic too. i just dont know if its worth the money to buy a piece of crap and fix it up or just put the money into my 300 which i know is a good bike. my buddy tore down his warrior and redid it and did all the work himself and it costed him around 800 but his is an 02 so it didnt need a lot of the parts this one does. 800 bucks went a long way on his and he could help me with any problems i would have

so your looking at around 300 for the PD and a couple hundred for plastics and a rappy 660 starter clutch is like 200 so idk you might be ablke to do it

Its all about what makes you happy. It doen't matter how much you spend, thats why they call this a hobby. I say do it.

i asked my buddy how much he could PC the frame, swingarm, and a-arms for me and he said he could do almost any color i wanted for $90 to $120. he PC'd the frame on his warrior purple and it looks really good with his blue plastic. i was thinking about white plastic and either a blue, black, or red frame. if you guys have any cool ideas for it tell me

dont be takin my colors...lol. you dont want your frame black cuz if you leak oil you wont know it. if i were to pc my frame again, i'd make it pink just cuz it'd be the same color as when i got it. make it like a creamcicle, orange frame and white plastics, lol.

Do not be afraid to use paint.I used this stuff called Zero Rust-just prep really well(I have a sandblaster, but a grinder can work). If you cant afford powder coat,a good paint job is the way to go.Make sure to take pictures of it before.
