sperry ok
I just recently put the cases back togather on my 1998 warrior. I took it apart to get washers that had fallen in before I got it. The case halves went togather easily and everything seemed to be ok. then I put the clutch and all gears back on following the clymer instructions. The problem is, after putting the engine back in and hooking the shifter up I cant get it into neutral and the shift shaft doesnt catch on the shift star in all gears so it only shifts into a few gears. I dont know if it is just because theres no oil in it or what. It just doesnt seem right to me. I still have both side covers off as well as the top end. I would like to know if there is any thing that could be wrong that would cause this?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

is it in foward or reverse? if it's in reverse it wont go into neutral, not sure about missing gears

is it in reverse by any chance this is the problem a had when i put mine back together only took me an hour to find out what the problem was

Well I went out and hooked up my reverse lever and it was in reverse. So I put it in forward and that seems to have fixed my problems.
Thanks for the help guys.
