hey i have an 88 warrior i bought off my dads friend who bought it brand new. he rode it all them time right before he sold it to me he said its bogging down. it idles fine but when you give it gas some times its power is right there other times its not and comes in a few seconds later. when i get to top speed i should probably only be in 3rd gear it doesn't have the same power it use to. i had 2 different people trying to rebuild the carb so idk if its still that or not yet. none of these people are mechanics but they have all rebuilt carbs before. he said he used silicone on the air box and thinks some might have been sucked into it. my uncle thinks it might be rings does that sound right?

please any info helps im not trying to spend alot i only paid 500 for the quad and im on a tight income

It really sounds like your main jet is clogged to me. If the rings were bad it would smoke like a sob when you lay into it

Do you know what jets it has? Any mods? Have you done any diagnosis like ohming components?

Answer those questions for a start, so we have a basis to go off of to help ya. Also if your close to any members they maybe to help you personally so if you could fill out your profile or just put where your at up that could help.

i just took the carb apart and i noticed theres about 2 cm play in my throtle before it engages and when i opened the carb and gave it gas i noticed that it doesnt pull it open all the way. it goes till about a 2 inch gap. is that normal? now im thinking its something stupid like a throtle cable

nvm i found the problem is very simple and its just a stretched throtle cable. does anyone know how to fix it? i have an 88 so its the two cable system
