Just did the final oil change after break in and a bunch of shavings came out. Checked them yep their steel so who knows how much longer my motor will hold out

Run her til she dies, Beastly! I had some major junk come out of mine when I put clutches in it. I changed the oil & rode it... Pulled it apart for a freshen up & found a cracked/chipped piston & a few shavings in the oil filter again. It wasn't as bad as the 1st time but still. What ya gonna do though, ya know. It runs good but has alot of time on it. I'm just gonna run it til it gives up & maybe make this a stroker motor when it's done.

I still get some shavings time to time. I know my crank and rod are in excellent shape, top end has about 20hrs on it now. My gut tells me it's from the trans. She shifts fine, but makes some whining in 4th-6th. Will just have to deal with it.

Good luck. My metal shaving have been getting less and less. This engine already had some case damage when I got it, so it could be from that. Only other thing I can think of.
