What are the symptoms of a bad Starter Clutch?

As the title reads.. Symptoms of a starter clutch going out? Noises, etc..

loud clunking when you stop your engine; loud clucking when your turning it over, etc, etc

a knock when you kill it, sounds of the starter turning over while the motor is running, and when one fails it sounds like metal brinding against metal, hard to mistake for anything else. thats about it.. it can also make it sound like a car starter is trying to start a big block, and like it has a low battery at the same time.
