i need some opinions on where i should mount my lights. i took off the stockers and made a black plastic plate to cover up the hole where the original ones were. i picked up some trail techs and i'm not sure where they would look the best.

option 1: fabricate a bracket that mounts on the steering stem so that they point in the direction that the bars are in.

option 2: do like the majority of people and mount them to the shock mount.

option 3: any other suggestions?

i'm leaning towards the bars and i have plenty of material to do whatever. i just like the fact that they will point in the direction of my bars. i dont do much night time riding, so at this point, it isnt that big of a deal.

I have trail techs on my bars and I think I'm gonna move them. I don't like the way they bounce around when I hit bumps. Everytime the wheels hit something it shakes the bars side to side and your lights go nutty.

Tape a flashlight to your head.

I say leave the old school lights

flashlight on the melon sounds good

well, i have something fabricated that mounts to the steering stem and then the lights will mount underneath. paint is drying and the lights arent wired up yet. i tried to keep the mounting plate as small as possible so that hopefully the lights wont bounce around. i guess i will find out tonight.

still open to any more suggestions.

DO you have a cross bar on ur handlebars?? MAybe you could weld a plate of some sort in there, this way they turn with the bike.

example: where a number would go on the front of a dirtbike or something, I dk how big your lights are. just a thought.

i was and still am thinking about trying something similar to that. instead of welding a plate to the crossbar, i would take a thin strip of the metal and wrap it around the bar until it makes a U shape. then when the bolt on the light goes through the U, you tighten the bolt down and that would also tighten the U around the bar. i get bored as hell a lot so i'm probably going to go ahead a fab a number of different options.

something like this? Mounts to the bottom of the stem bolts.

well, i took off the original headlights because it makes the warrior look like a damn bug or something. tried mounting the small lights on the bars thinking that the smaller lights wouldnt make it look like a freaking mosquito. it was a no go. i tried to make myself like it because i loved the fact that they moved in the direction you were steering. i broke down and mounted them on the shock mount like you guys. looks much better. who knows, i might come up with something crazy someday and mount them somewhere else. they look good now and thanks for everyone's input. i appreciate it.
