i'm new to the atv scene and i'm looking to get a pair of riding boots this month. i've been looking at the answer 06 mode boots, four 06 vrx, fox offroad tracker boots, and msr mxt boots. the only reason i listed those is they are in the 125-150 price range. anyone have any opinions?

thanks

Have you looked at Four boots? I'm not sure of the price. Thor makes an ATV boot as well.

Honestly cheap boots aren't the way to go; they don't stand up to the torture of riding for as long as more expensive models. I would recommend Aplinestar Tech 8s or Fox Forma Pro. The Forma Pros are a lil more expensive then trackers but for the price you get protection and options only found in much more expensive riding boots. The tech 8s are also great boots; you can not go wrong with either one.

what death said its worth to spend the extra money for an expensive set off alpinestar or fox boots cheap boots fall apart to fast and break easy as anything for me when i got my fox boots they lasted me for years till they finally Brok and i just taped them together while was in the trails to make it home so spend the extra money and buy some good boots cheaps boots dont cut it at all plus they flex to much if your foot comes off your pegs and gets stuck and they will flex and bend easy for cheap boots

I've got Tech 8s. The only complaint I've ever heard about them are that they take a long while to break in. I was talking to a guy who races every week and practices at a mx track at least twice a week and he said that it took him around 6 months to break his in. He was only wearing them half of the time he was riding though. He was wearing old ones to race until the Tech 8s were broke in. Once you get used to em being stiff though, you won't think twice about em until you go walking to the truck...lol

I would recommend alpine tec4's (atv sole) here, they are comfortable enough to wear around a campsite all day, very good in mud (even if you have to get off and push they have great traction), and they allow your ankle to move forward and backward to shift easily and walk, but not side to side in case of accidents. The alpine series also can be fixed in any way, even if the soles wear out you can order a new one and have a shoe repairman attach it. Overall I would highly recommend them, very protective and comfy!!! ;D

That's a big draw back to the Tech 8s. If you have to walk in mud or push out of it...lol...you have to use the edge of your boot sole to get any traction. I try to just avoid getting stuck...lol

One reason I got em though was because of being able to replace anything that wears out on them.

In Michigan there isn't a doubt about getting stuck, it's hazy and ****** weather through 75% of the year. I guess it's a price to pay for thick forests and having lakes everywhere! There is plenty of mud to go around here.

In NY its pretty dusty through out the summer and spring with many wide open farm fields, trails, and lots of deep woods trails. We also have numerous MX tracks around here that we ride to and at.

We've got everything but sand here. I'm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains so you can ride rocky hill trails or some deep clay mud pits. My favorite riding area has lots of mud and a mx track. They don't have any hills but there is a couple of national forest atv trails in this county with plenty of technical hills. A couple are real back-breakers...lol

around me is great, there are a few tracks that are a fairly short ride, an offroad vehicle park in the next town over, mud where you want it, lots of trails, im in the middle of the pine barrens, and then go to the quarry in the next town over, and you have dunes...haha its great!

Why couldn't you shift? I had to move my lever some so that I could shift easier with my nerf bars, but that is all.

Problem is that I can't lift the front of my boots up when I sit on the Rappy.
The only way I can shift is when I move my ass all the way to the front of the seat and now I put my nerf bars on it I can't even put the boots under the shifter.
