In my opinion i would buy a higher quality helmet. Your head is nothing to cheap out on. I know from experience i spent a night in the hospital because of a crash. I had a very severe concussion and they had to run several tests to make sure my brain wasn't bleeding which could kill you. I probably would have been killed or suffer from severe head injury if it weren't for my helmet. I would reccomend an HJC AC-X3 helmet, very comfortable and great quality.

Dude I've been in one bad crash with my old 80 dollar helmet and hit hard, when i stood up everything was blury and they said the first thing I said was "Is the quad alright?" lol. No serious injury just rattled up a lil bit, the helmet got a small crack where it bashed off a rock but it done its job of keeping my brain from splattering on the rock. So I know the 80 dollar ones are gona hold up, as long as they are DOT/snell approved.

My 60 dollar off brand Has held up after multiple falls from high altitudes, and hard hits from justrgetting thrown off the quad, but I do think its time to upgrade to a good name, Mines is over 2 years old.

Hotphill, loving that KBC helmet.

KBC makes some of the baddest looking helmets. I love that Zombie helmet. I almost got the super-X7 dirt demon KBC for myself but figured I spent enough money on quads this month.

This is the best place to go to for helmets. They have awesome prices and free shipping over $50.

I bought my wife the AFX FX-86R helmet on sale for $48. I could not believe the quality of this helmet when I got it and it is DOT approved. It matches her baby blue Thor Phase riding gear perfectly.

If you are set on getting a cheaper helmet then go for it but after my experience i will never cheap out on my helmet again.

Totally agree. Buy a $50 helmet for a $50 head. I've ate **** enough to know its worth it to get a good helmet. Always worth it to spend a little extra; you get what you pay for, especially with helmets.

Oh yeah...not to sound like a prick but not a big fan of KBC mostly because it's manufactured by China. At least the other company's like HJC, Arai, Shoei, Bell, etc. are manufactured by Japan, South Korea, or in the states. Just a personal preference due to political/national reasons, but sport whatever skid lid you want, so long as your wearing one. ;D

I'm not saying its a bad helmet, it obviously had to meet safety standards (DOT and SNELL) but its just my personal preference not to buy Chinese products when I can. That's all I'm saying.

Glad to hear that you liked your KBC, and got a good deal on it.

Damn straight!!!!

Ya chris, since i dont know what color the z is going to be either yellow or white obviously (only colors for the 03-05), I think im going to get like a black/silver that would go either way. Thanks for the link palerider!! Thats where im going to buy my helmet at.

KBC is an American Company with its head office in Los Angelas, California. All KBC helmets are both DOT and SNELL approved.

You might want to check where some of those other companies you listed are based out of or where they have some of their products made at. For example HJC helmets are made by HONG JIN (BEIJING) SPORTS GOODS CO., LTD in good ole CHINA.

It is getting harder and harder to find even American Companies that do not use China to build their products.

touche lol ;)

I get to eat humble pie! I have an HJC helmet and was under the assumption it was manufactured there. But yeah, it is hard to avoid buying Chinese products. Guess I need to read closer.

Another interesting tid-bit, alot of helmets are actually made by KBC of Korea, American owned. They are then sold as O'neal, MSR, Thor, Fox and of course KBC, and others. Even Good Ole Bell helmets are now made over seas, with the exception of the Automobile racing helmets.

For the money KBC helmets are the ****!
