I know there's a topic on here and I tried to search so I can get some input but no luck. So here's my question when starting up I usually pull the choke half way and it cranks up. Sometimes I pull it all the way out and it cranks up with a crap load of white smoke is that because of the air /fuel ration when on choke?? Also I've experienced white smoke on occasion when gunning the throttle but its a faint smoke not to thick and very seldom . Is that signs of valve seals going bad??

do you store the quad outdoors or where there is alot of moisture? could be condensation or water in the exhaust. or it could be a faint blue color meaning oil and it looks white.

Quad is stored in garage and I've ride it hard about 3times since last oil change and according to the dip stick it doesn't look like its burning oil

ok so its water related, either its coming in through your filter, fuel, or your exhaust is wet.

White-water, moisture
blue- oil
Black- fuel.

Is it mainly doing it when it's cold and goes away when fully warmed up? This time of year it is common to see this becuase it is cold outside. I'm sure you've seen it with cars and trucks driving down the road when the engine hasn't reached it's operating temp. Lots of white smoke, right? That's actually some fuel particulates that are suspended in the exhaust gases, becuase the engine is not fully warm, nor is the exhaust system, and the intake air temp (intake manifold mainly) has not warmed up..

I know exactly what your talking about but it's not that type of smoke it happens when at full choke when starting but stops once I close choke then on occasion once motor is it normal operating temps it see a white smoke from the exhuast one get it in on the throttle ( throttle punched)

Open the drain screw on the bottom of the carb, let it drain a good 10 count and ride it, if it continues, I wouldn't worry, it moisture in the exhaust most likely.

What does the smoke smell like?
Have someone ride behind you and they will be able to tell you what the smoke smells like oil or gas or no smell at all
