Why did yamaha scratch the warrior nameplate???

They now have 3 raptors, 90, 350, and 700

Why not keep the warrior tradition alive, since it was their best selling quad FOREVER

they have 4 raptors.. and not a 90.. its a 50, 80, 350, and 700. The warrior was in need of a small upgrade anyways. the raptor 350 looks better than a warrior anyways.. IMO.

Yea but they still could have called it the warrior, why not call the yfz a raptor 450, what defines the rappy 350 as a raptor? besides new plastic?

stole the words right out of my mouth

The names distinguished the quads before, now they don't I don't know why they combined all these under one name its retarded.

its just how it is...the raptor riders think theyre better because it looks better and has a new name, and the warrior riders are like WTF whats the difference to call it a raptor

For people just getting into the sport the raptor name is usually the most well known, yamaha realizes that they can sell the raptor 350 by the name alone because of how well the 660s have sold.

It's just marketing.

The Warrior name was old. And Yamaha felt a new name would sell better.

the raptor 700/660 is a trail quad. so is the 350. the yfz is a high-performance mx quad, like the yz dirtbikes.

thats so true too.. everyone of my friends( that know dick **** about quads) are always drooling over my raptor (cant say i blame them :p) and all they know (in the world of quads) is the raptor.. dont know nothing about any 450. so yes, the raptor name sells it better.

But he has a valid point. If you tell someone you have a warrior they know exactly what you're talking about but if you say you have a raptor their like "which one?" I understand the marketing behind it but I wish they'd given it its own identity.

we think were better?? hah y do u think that

haha noo I don't think I am better at all than anyone else. I am not sending everyone away, I was just pointing out , that there is no distinction anymore.

Like I totally realize they are the same engine but newskin, but the leaving forum comment reffered to going ot another site for "raptors" where there are 4 different machines and you don't know what they are reffering to, I just feel they should have kept some identity between the names. Not all the 4x4's are the grizzly.

No, but they are all bears...lol. Maybe they couldn't think of any other birds of prey! The Yamaha Falcon would have suited me!

so, was the raptor name chosen because of the bird of prey or the dinosaur? i was thinking the dinosaur, but i never thought about the bird.
