if your not getting gas then usally the float is the problem.. they most of the time stick down but sometimes they will get stuck up not allowing fuel to go by the needle. I would clean that if you can.
If you have the gas line hooked up make sure and turn the gas on and make sure gas is flowing out of the float needle.

Iv never had to do it so im curios how do you set the float hight?

i've already got the entire carb out man its sitting on a table right now i just didnt have time today to mess around with it. well tomorrow i will wash the whole thing out with gas and hook the gas line up to see if the jet allows gas through. is the low speed air jet underneath the white looking plastic cover that has some huge spring inside of it? also dont know if this is bad but i sprayed some starting fluid into it too

yea i think thats where it is but nah it should be fine starting fluid shouldnt mess anything up....hopefully, but to adjust that fuel bowl height you just gotta bend that tab on the end of the float, the little piece that pushes down and blocks fuel flow,it looks like a rectangle with like a button on the top and a pointed rubber piece on the bottom, depending on how that tab is bent determines how soon or late the fuel flow stops pouring into the carb...fuel flows into the carb and pushes the float upward until that fuel valve shuts the fuel flow, its gotta be set just right so fuel gets picked up by the jets and such...

float height if you are in range of spec and even a couple MM below and above will effect fuel mixture of the entire range of the carb, not really cause you not to get any fuel what so ever. Now if the float was stuck up or the needle assembly on the float was stuck for some reason then we wouldn't get any fuel in to the carb bowl. This can also be tested just by unscrewing the drain on the bottom of the float bowl to see if you are getting fuel flowing through the needle on the float.

ended up getting some carb cleaner...sprayed entire thing and washed with some gas put it back to gether. it still doesnt stay running, but i think it just needs to get the fuel flowing and get back in position. it used to only release smoke out of exhaust, now no more smoke and its running a little longer each time. i'll just keep starting it until its better again

well i didnt take time to check the float and realized its not getting gas because the float was completely jammed, and there were pieces of the gasket inside. i pulled it free and cleaned it out, it runs great now
