Howdy all, I'm starting yet another cam thread. I'll post up my research and findings and opinions on what I have ran/tested here.
I have ridden on warriors with Stock, .390, Web .430and the Poweroll .430 race cam. I'll soon test out the Web .413
My first war had a stock cam:
Stock is stock, the warrior if geared and ran with 22"s deffinitly has some pep for a 4-S. Pretty good throughout the whole range of gears. It flows though smooth yet the torque and top speed seem to make you want more.
My lil brother (teamexileracing) had the 390 cam and the .430 in his warrior. Wiseco 10.5:1 piston. .20 bore:
The 390 is like stock but on roids. Its the same just better. Like a beefed up version of how stock would run. I'm sure the added compression and small bore helped out in the same ratio as the upgraded cam did too.
The .430 one his build was to big to reap all the benifits. I remember thinking that It should so more. There were definite torque improvements but the acceleration was killed a tad and it seemed as if the engine had tto work to hard. The smooth functionality seemed to lack a little.
The Poweroll .430 race cam was ran in conjunction with a .60 bore and 11:1 JE piston. Acceleration was all but killed. High mid to top end was there but to get there you really had to make the engine work for it. Once the quad was ran out all of the way, it seemed as if you could go faster and faster as you were able to gas it. Wide open 6th gear, you were scootin and it had the strange feeling that you were continuously picking up speed. The process slowing to pick up to the same speed again took to long, well least to long for my liking. Hill climbs with declined acceleration were a bitch but possible. The engine just hated you for putting it throu that abuse. Id be fun to test on a TT or MX track with a stroker engine, that would help the cams tru potential.
PICS: Lft - Rht: Stock Rappy 350, Stock Warrior, Poweroll .430 Race.
I'll let yall know what I think of the Web .413 when I get it and test it.
