Well got my motor runnin with 4 mil stroke with 85 mil je 12:1 comp piston took a lil bit of custom like the spacer cut to 80 thousandths and the origanal timing chain worked good. Went and rejetted 45 pilot 152 main and dgj needle on 1st groove bought ngk d6ea plug and stage 2 hot. Cams with full race port and polish kn filter no box.. only problem runs really hot even with and oil cooler. Plenty of power

Its not runnin lean the plug is nice and tan runnin good but the heat has gotta go I can stand about 3 or 4 ft away and feel the heat off the motor like I was sittin on it. Ne one have some ideas I can look at ill do but oil cooler is workin the way it should. I haven't punched it down yet stsill. Breakin it in.

Well took it out last night and from 1/4 throttle up it pulls so hard. Definitly w orth doin 388.

Fan kit may do some good as weston mentioned. Sikness. Get up some vids man, do a fly by video. I dunno of anyone else running a 388.

i had no idea you could do a 388. so it's just a 4mil with a 366 je piston?

I'm running hot rods +4mm crank and 85mm JE 12.1 piston. Using a custom base plate spacer gasket from cometic. Using E85 fuel.

Wat is the thickness of cometics base spacer mines aluminum .80 thousandths. Just curious to c if mine was close

you should do that EFI kit that would be sick!

I also had the head ported at LED performance and carb taper bored to 39mm. Way to much money into this engine now. haha

To figure out the base plate spacer is actually pretty simple. For a JE piston you need .015" to get 0 deck.. then just take and add 2mm to that you there is your spacer and gasket thinkness total. Basically around .094" base plate including gaskets.

357 what head gasket you using?

I was going to bring up what his gasket thickness and deck height was. May have HIGH comp ratio and low grade fuel for it.
