I've read the tread on shortening your silencer but the pics don't load, As you can see mine goes out past my rear grab bar and I want to shorten it. Can/will someone help? thanks

****, that silencer is huge man. sorry, but i can't help you. i have never done this before.

on the other hand this is why i hate my FMF. it caused my PB header to snap the welds yesterday, but it also snapped the silencer clamp on the rear too a while back. things are cumbersome so i think i'll get an HMF.

yeah it's big, It's the Q model 99db in the woods and 93bb on the dunes and that's the only reason I bought it, but now I want to get a bigger rear grab bar and think I'll have issues with it hitting the silencer. And speaking of breaking a weld on a bp header. Take a look right behind the powerbomb. I landed a jump a few years ago and all of the sudden my leg was hot and exhast was LOUD. Paid a shop $10.00 for a shitty looking weld job, but it has held up so far.

Haven't had a problem with my PB yet. Since yours is shot already, just cut some off the header and slide your exhaust up some. You got about 3" or so till you have another bend.

I would but then the bends in the tail section wont line up correctly, it has a little s curve in it.

I think you have enough play room by the frame and rear plastics to slide it further up onto the header. That or hack some off the straight section right befre the can and re-weld the can plate up further.

that silencer bracket is a wrap style bracket right? You can slide the can forward or back and keep your bracket where it needs to be to alight for the mounting location. You don't really need the lower mounting bracket, its over kill.

and now that I think of it, I would bitched out FMF and sent them pics of the header. perhaps got a replacement out of it.

damn, that sucks that it broke your PB too. i just slapped my stocker back on after i cleaned up the welds inside. also, took a wire wheel to it.

do you think FMF would do anything about it? i've had mine just over a year now. pretty gay that it broke.

The silencer already has a lower mounting bracket and the wrap around for the upper. Yeah I probably should have tried for a replacement but I was just thinking **** I need this fixed.

hey bro if u can weld jus thake the pipe off and cut 3 inches or so right out of the middle than weld the silencer back to the part with the bracket its easy
