yep it has spark and would a coil cause the engine to stop when it gets warm?

i am totally unsure of the year i picked it up for $200 it has been mix and matched i believe the head was a 87 - 88 but the rest is in the 90's i believe it is the org. stator

but what is causing the overheating this happened the first day i took it out for break in like 1/4 - little under 1/2 throttle

i have just rebuilt the motor and when it warms up it dies. when it cools it starts and runs till it gets warm and the same thing. i put a wiseco 40 over piston, it was jetted when i got it, kn air filter and stock exhaust and head

is the 12:1 85mm piston gonne be unreliable also?

well i wasn't ready to bore yet but when i pulled jug to replace base gasket i seen some crindging stuff i just got the quad i paid 200 and it did run. but when it warms up it starts backfiring and pukes. when it cools down it starts for another 10 mins.

the JE i was looking at is 12:1

so it sounds like wiseco is the way to go then right

what is the down side of 12.1:1 compression
