i need to bore my jug i am stuck on what piston i should use JE or wiseco please help i wanna order piston today

I personally looked at both. From what I've read both a equal in quality. They are the same, meaning how they are made and what there made out of. This is appartly what Mickey Dunlap says. The reason Wiseco is less expensive is because they make a huge run of them at once where as JE makes little.
My personal opinion is that JE is a better design in making HP. The dome is more of shape of the combustion chamer design. The height of the dome is .100 which is what you want for proper flame transfer across the piston. Anymore dome height then you can actually start to loose power. (I don't know the spec's on the Wiseco dome) The JE has higher compression then the Wiseco. 10.5:1/10.2:1. Also another thing to consider is weight. Anybody have the spec sheet for the Wiseco and we can post the weight of the two.

The problem with JE is I think they only make a standard or 2mm over piston nothing in between, and there is really no need to bore the cylinder to the max the first time. I did it but wouldn't do it again. JE is a more quality made piston and they are lighter. The weisco has a very small dome, and won't block any flame travel. The newer JEs come with a smaller dome then my original and they also have a lower compression rating, My old one is rated at 11.1 and the new 10.5.

Anything over 11:1 compression you'll have to run race fuel. I would recomend an oil cooler even with the stock compression. If you can afford it then go for it. I believe there are other manufactures that produce the higher compression pistons. Aries is one.

well i wasn't ready to bore yet but when i pulled jug to replace base gasket i seen some crindging stuff i just got the quad i paid 200 and it did run. but when it warms up it starts backfiring and pukes. when it cools down it starts for another 10 mins.

is the 12:1 85mm piston gonne be unreliable also?

According to Alba's website thier JE for the Warrior is the 10.75:1 ratio, with the following size options:
Std bore
+.5mm
+1.0mm
+1.5mm
+2.0mm

Alba has JE custom make there piston. It is based off of the 12:1. The 12:1 compression piston will put more stress on everything but if done right it should last a long time.

The 12.1 will work, but you need a big cam with long duration at 0.50 lift to help bleed off some static compression, a colder spark plug. You need to keep it in good tune, don't let the airfilter get dirty, and you'll definitly need a good oil cooler. This is to run on 93 octane, and once the temp goes above 80 I would be worried. Then race gas comes in, somewere around 110 octane and that gas cost about $5.00 a gallon.
