Well Im going to be getting the valves for my biuld here soon and finally found a +1 KibbleWhite Black Diamond intake valve. Im trying to decide/figure out if its worth it because of the added work to put one in. What I will be running along with them is JE 10.50:1 366 piston, megacycle 252x1 cam, R&D springs, Cometic EST gaskets, and a mild port and polish. Id prefer experience with or someone in the know to help answer this question.

well the port and polish will help tremendously with airflow, as it will be harder for the air to "stick" to the walls of the intake and exhaust. so if you added a oversize valve it would increase that flow even more; thus putting more fuel/air into the cylinder. i dont know what kind of power gains you would see from oversize valves but from what i see you will feel some sort of gain to the power. so if you want to squeeze that little bit more feelable power gain out of your engine; i say go for it!

Technically it doesn't stick but with airflow you'll always have a "turbulent flow" over surfaces and the goal is to minimize that with the polish

You seem to forget alex that even though a port job improves flow, that a head even fully ported can only support so much. I know midwayUSA has done some flowing of the 350 head. Im in the know on how performance works, more than likely more than you are. Im talking specifically our 350, its an old design and can only be improved so much. Im more looking for like jasonp's, midway's, weston's etc... guys that have pushed things farther than most would. Thats the best input.

indeed thats what i ment by "stick" lol. i also theorise that if you just do the intake you wont see any big gains unless you do an oversize exhaust valve too; to handle the extra flow of the intake. i dont exactly know bout that but thats what i belive.

Well mine has the +1 but I can't compare it to a p&p head without but I've been told its well worth the money. I know there's people out there that can get these to flow as well as a 4 valve

To a point, mainly on the exhaust side. Intake side still needs to have some turbulence to keep the gas in suspension(or something like that!! LOL)

Theres no oversized exhaust valve available for these. Not to mention with the valve overlap and tight postioning theres really no room.

Yes but I don't believe it will yield as much benefit. What's going out the exhaust is of different chemical properties. It's all a gas, not a suspension

Ive got a little over a month or so before Ill have the $$ to get the valves and gaskets, but thanks for your input. My P&P is being done by me with advice from midway, since he's done some work on these. What cam are you running? For some reason Im thinking your running the same I will be.

The web .440 lift, if this quad works out this weekend I might have the head up for sale

ehh... I didnt know if that kinda thing would work of not. just readin bout stuff... lol

Yes exactly why backyard port jobs rarely work well and why I only trust someone with a lot of experience. When I ported a head I just tried to clean it up a bit but not take any material out

Lol I like the jbweld
Thats mainly what Im doing is cleaning things up and knocking down sharp edges. I did the same thing on my 2.3 turbo head and I can tell the difference especially when the boost comes on. Night and day difference. Before I even started to do anything I researched like crazy before I even got all the tools bought!! Im the type I wont do anything til Ive found all the info I can.

Me questioning the +1 is that there is not alot of info out there, especially on stock stroke bikes. And by info I mean proven info, not some joe smoe saying I did it and I think it works. Usually they did a bunch of stuff at the same time so they in all actuality cant say.

im some 15 year old joe smoe sayin i think it will give some sort of performance gain! lol. does my input count? *cough NOT REALLY cough*
